Variety is the Spice of Life in the Pen Making Business
After 21+ years as an active duty member of the United States Air Force I followed that up with nearly 40 years of work in the corporate security world in physical and administrative security. I then needed a new challenge. Introduced to the art of pen making by my son I jumped into this craft with both feet. After more than 2 years in this craft I continue to work with new materials, processes and finished to provide a high quality writing produce for my customers. I have since added other turned items into the inventory to include seam rippers, crochet hook sets and even smoking pipes.
To Bottle Stoppers and Beyond
Bottle stoppers were the next step in the process of making "turned" items. The art of lathe turning expanded with the blank canvas of a piece of wood or acrylic with an eye to a unique shape/form. The potential is there from simple to very complex.
Custom/Special Projects and Commission Work
As an example of of custom work, these are pens that were requested to be made from a hammer handle of a Father who passed away. The pens would be a reminder of this man for his two sons. Most wood items and some acrylic items could be crafted into pens, bottle stoppers, seam rippers or other items as memorials. Contact me with your thoughts of what you would like.
